First issue of ‘The Topper’ introduced ‘Mickey the Monkey’. The cheerful little monkey was the all colour star of the front cover. With the asistance of his friend ‘Polly’ the parrot, Mickey went on to make 1074 front cover appearances before settling down inside the covers of ‘The Topper.’
