The Thirteenth Floor
The first Issue of Scream comic was dated 24th March 1987 and came with a free gift of ‘Fangs’. Stories in the first issue were: ‘The Dracula File’, ‘Monster’, ‘The Thirteenth Floor’, ‘Tales from the Grave’, ‘A Ghastly Tale’, ‘Fiends and Neighbours’, ‘At Death’s Door’, ‘The Terror of the Cats’.
Monster
Although the comic only ran for 15 issues, it has become part of the British Comics’ psyche and continues to this day in reprint form. On merging with Eagle comic, only two stories transferred to the new combined title, those being ‘Monster’ and ‘The Thirteenth Floor’. There was also a considerable delay between the last issue of Scream comic and the newly merged title which was due to a National Union of Journalists (NUJ) Strike, which affected IPC Magazines.
